THE PETREL STATION TOUR REPORT

Had a great day on the last summer seabird tour for 2025 out to The Petrel Station, offshore from Tutukaka (in Northland, New Zealand).

During the tour we recorded 20 seabird species, and enjoyed watching just short of 1,800 stunning seabirds in total! Conditions on the day were mostly fine with 7-12 knot winds and a 1m swell. See below for the full list of seabirds recorded on the tour.

If you’re interested in coming out to The Petrel Station then check out the upcoming seabird tour dates and get in touch – it’s always a great day out.
