THE PETREL STATION TRIP REPORT
Had a fantastic day on the last summer seabird tour for 2024 out at The Petrel Station, offshore from Tutukaka (in Northland, New Zealand). Conditions on the day were a mix of fine, overcast and rain, solid 15 to 20 knot wind, and a 2m swell – great seabird weather :)
During the tour we recorded 21 different seabird species, and enjoyed watching just over 8,000 stunning seabirds in total! See below for the full list of seabirds recorded on the tour.
If you’re interested in coming out to The Petrel Station then check out the upcoming trip dates and get in touch – it’s always a great day out. We've got plenty of Autumn tours coming up which is a great time for potential migrating seabirds, and Albatross head back up to our area.
